How Doghobble Wine Farm Went From 13% to 67% AI Search Visibility in 6 Months

The Challenge

Doghobble Wine Farm is a newer vineyard in North Georgia, competing against wineries that have been operating for 30+ years. Most of their visitors were coming from social media, drive-by traffic, and referrals. Search wasn't doing much for them, and the little bit of search traffic they did get was branded, people who already knew the name from somewhere else.

The website looked good, but it had two problems working against it. The navigation made it hard for visitors to actually get where they needed to go, which was hurting conversions. And the site was light on the kind of detailed, specific information AI models look for when deciding who to cite. Doghobble sat at just 13% visibility share in AI search for the prompts that mattered most to their business, well behind competing vineyards in their own market.

The Solution

Website & UX fixes

Before anything else, we fixed the site itself. Added clear buttons and CTAs so visitors could navigate to what they needed without hunting for it. Built out more detail about the wine farm experience so people knew what to expect before they arrived. Added dedicated FAQs to key pages, both for visitors and for the AI models reading the page.

Technical SEO audit

A technical pass turned up the usual suspects working against the site: no schema markup, duplicate meta descriptions, missing H1s. We fixed all of it.

Prompt research

Prompt research is to AEO what keyword research is to SEO. People are asking AI models real questions, and if you want to be the answer, you have to answer the question directly on your site. This is the first thing we do for every client, and it became the foundation for everything else.

AEO blog content

Using the prompt research, we identified the highest-volume questions people were asking, things like "what vineyards in North Georgia have good food" and "what is the best vineyard in Dahlonega GA", and built dedicated Q&A content to answer them directly. Q&A-style blogs like this are one of the most effective levers for AI search visibility.

New high-value pages

A few critical pages didn't exist yet:
Our Wines — a dedicated page going deep on the actual product, which is surprisingly rare for vineyard sites
About Us — builds trust with visitors and strengthens E-E-A-T signals AI models look for
The Farm Table — Doghobble's food program is a real differentiator, but nothing on the site reflected that. A full menu page with dish-level detail helps both visitors and LLMs understand what's actually on offer

Private events targeting

Doghobble runs bridal showers, rehearsal dinners, corporate events, and more, but wasn't showing up anywhere in search for any of it. We built content specifically targeting these event types so the site could compete for that demand.

Third-party authority signals

AI models weigh trust heavily when choosing what to cite. We worked to build Doghobble's presence outside their own site too, including YouTube, social, and PR mentions, to reinforce that Doghobble is a credible, authoritative source.

The Results

67% AI search visibility, up from 13% (#1 in their market)
80.4% of AI answers about the space retrieve Doghobble's domain, more than any competitor or institutional source

Doghobble now ranks #1 for AI search visibility among every vineyard tracked in their market, ahead of competitors that have been established for decades. Their domain is being retrieved in AI-generated answers more than any other source, including local tourism and institutional sites.

Search, organic and AI combined, now accounts for 40% of Doghobble's total traffic, a channel that barely moved the needle a year ago.

The private events side of the business has grown noticeably since ranking #1 for their targeted event prompts and keywords, across both Google and AI search.

Traditional search moved too

The AEO work didn't come at the expense of regular Google rankings, it pulled both up together. Comparing March through June 2026 to the same period the year before:

+34% organic clicks (4.54K → 6.07K)

+86% organic impressions (53.8K → 100K)

Conclusion

1. AI search visibility isn't won by luck, it's won by being the most specific, most complete answer to the questions people are actually asking.
2. A newer brand can outrank decades-old competitors in AI search faster than it ever could in traditional SEO.
3. The sites doing this well today have a real head start, because AI models default to citing sources they already trust.
